Discord roles

Connect a Discord server (a guild) and choose which Discord roles an Access list gives.

Connect the guild

1. Go to Settings, then Integrations, and click Connect Discord to install the shared heliana bot on your Discord server. Until then the panel says “No Discord server connected”. The Discord panel then shows the Server, Last sync (as “N granted, M removed”) and the roles each list gives. Sync Discord roles runs the sync now.
2. Open an Access list and tick its Discord roles. This needs the integration:manage permission.

One organization connects one Discord server, and one Discord server connects to one organization. One role can be set on several lists.

When a role is held

A person holds the role while they have signed in with Discord and have at least one active entry in a list that gives it. Their Game ID must be verified, which a connected Steam ID already is.

• Sync is one-way, heliana to Discord. The bot touches only roles that are matched to a list, and a manual change to such a role is rolled back.
• A role that is not ticked is not given by that list. A role removed in Discord is marked Removed in Discord (the panel says “Some roles were removed in Discord”) and grants nothing.
• Disconnect Discord, removing a role from the last list, or deleting the list that gave it does not take away roles already given; heliana just stops managing them.
• If Discord refuses, the reason is shown in the Discord panel; the matching stays.
